Birmingham is a diverse city of business, art and
culture. Home to England's National Exhibition Centre
with its extensive conference, lecture and exhibition
halls, the city is also famous for housing the
Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Birmingham Royal
Ballet

and Art Gallery has important historical artefacts and
art works, including a collection of Pre-Raphaelite
paintings. Other galleries include The Ikon Gallery,
which shows contemporary art, and the Barber Institute
of Fine Arts, which features an impressive collection
of European art.
Cadbury World at Bournville is a
popular attraction that features the history of
chocolate and chocolate-making demonstrations. Broad
Street, with it numerous pubs, restaurants and clubs
is one of the city's best areas for nightlife and
entertainment while the Hippodrome and the Alexander
present popular theatre performances.
